Nik Masangcay

"Nik Masangcay took up fine arts at Far Eastern University and transfered to The Philippine Women's University on his second year. He presented his first one-man show in 2002, which depicted Philippine landscapes and mother and child themes. His inspiration was brought upon by his longing years of working abroad in Jeddah, K.S.A. . In 2008, a coffee table book, "Philippines by Nik Masangcay" was launched showcasing more than 250 pieces of his waterçolor paintings of various Philippine lmages. Some of the bookpieces was then featured in his second one-man show at The Renaisance Gallery in SM Megamal. At the moment, he is one of the Core Group of Grupo Kwadro and an active member of the Tuesday Group of Artists and Art Wednesday. Nik Masangcay's strength lies in his brilliant interpretation of scenery and images. He is presently developing a distinct style that will later on become his identity."
